Trending: Ikea collaborates with Ilse Crawford

British designer, Ilse Crawford teams up with Ikea this summer.

Collaborations like this don't come along every day. Fusing its signature Scandi style with a designer edge (and eco credentials to boot), Ikea has teamed up with British designer and style authority, Ilse Crawford to create a 30 piece collection, Sinnaleg. Got your attention? Thought so.

Designing for an international giant such as Ikea is no mean feat, so for this collaboration Crawford wanted to ensure the collection would work as well in a bathroom in Mumbai as it would a kitchen in Neasden. Described by the designer as 'deliberately low-key', Sinnaleg has a streamlined, minimalist look that's designed to work in any style of space.

Using natural and tactile materials such as seagrass and bamboo fibre, the collection includes everything from trestle tables and day beds all the way through to hand-blown glass bottles and lattice lamp shades. The range ticks boxes for sustainability as well as style; environmentally friendly and on-trend cork was chosen as a key material throughout and cushion upholstery is woven from a cotton that uses less water in its production. But best of all, it’s all at IKEA prices.

Told you it was the collaboration of the year.

Unveiled during Stockholm Design Week, the range will be available at IKEA stores and online from August.

Our top picks of the collection are these bamboo lampshades and beautiful blown-glass bottles with cork stoppers. Who doesn't love popping a cork, after all?
