From the bright fuchsia pink front door to the lived-in leather sofas, artsy bedrooms and the Cocktail Shack, Artist Residence, tucked in Brighton’s shabby chic Regency Square, is a perfect cocktail of styles – topped with the iconic Brighton seascape to gaze upon.

The two young creative hoteliers behind the place opted to invite local artists to use the hotel as a blank canvas as opposed to the traditional makeover. So each of the 23 eclectic bedrooms have been individually designed with original artwork and bespoke furniture.

Though it’s not all about just lusting over the interiors. The hotel has an online shop, Hoteletail, so you can literally buy the same art, accessories, lighting and furniture and recreate the look at home.

Brighton Wanderlust Bedroom

The 23 bedrooms are split into two styles; ‘House rooms’ (think classic and cosy) and ‘Artist rooms’ like the room above. This one, the Bonnie & Clyde room mixes the bold artists duos original mural with a clean, coastal colour palette.

Go bold and give the bold mural look a go – but without the hassle – by playing around with wall decals and stickers like Ikea’s wall stickers (from £4). Keep things sophisticated by using Pure Brilliant White as a base for your coastal palette and mixing your soft textures with crates (find large wooden boxes in H&M (£14.99)) and reclaimed wood furnishings.

If you find yourself in one of the ‘house rooms’ you’ll see the vintage lived-in leather sofas set against the contemporary art prints. Copy the look by scattering letter cushions like these Alphabet cushions from Asda (£5) or from This Modern Life (£5). Finish the look off with lamps and offset the look with walls in shades of grey such as Chic Shadow or the slightly darker Urban Obsession.

Tropical wallpaper is definitely a great way to create a statement and will make any living room feel like a cocktail-ready lounge. To get the look, choose a similar patterned wallpaper to adorn your walls and paint the skirting boards and ceiling in Coastal Grey. Find similar rattan chairs from Habitat. Now all you need is a Pina Colada.

Brighton Wanderlust Restaurant

The Set restaurant has a tiny open kitchen from which it creates the three tasting menus that change with the seasons.
