Say hello to your new weekend lunch spot. A joint venture between Stevie Parle, acclaimed chef, author, food writer and TV presenter and design guru Tom Dixon, Craft London is the hotly anticipated new restaurant, bar and shop located in the new cultural hub of Greenwich Peninsula.
The project kicked off with a café/roastery in October 2014 and is now fully open. As its name suggests, Craft is all about quality in production and collaborating with suppliers and experts to create world-class products, from roasting coffee to smoking fish, beekeeping, meat curing, and fermenting vegetables (don't let the latter put you off - fermenting is the next big food trend don't you know).
To top it off, Craft looks as good as it tastes, too, with interiors by Tom Dixon's Design Research Studio. The design reflects its approach to food and drink (naturally), working with British craftsmen to create a luxe and urbane setting that's playful and oozing in sex appeal. Using Tom Dixon's signature combination of glam metallics and vibrant shots of colour, the vibe is part futuristic, part retro, but 100% fabulous. Think deep aubergine leather and royal blue velvet banquettes, statement brass lighting, and striking turquoise seating, housed in a sleek glass space with panoramic views of the river Thames - a mood-lifting interior if ever we saw one. Better book now – it's set to be the hottest table this spring.
Stay tuned for even more reasons to visit London's coolest cultural hub - this summer Greenwich Peninsular will play host to pop-up cinema screens, art exhibitions at its new gallery space, screen printing workshops and more.
