What is it?
Architect Ben Pentreath was searching for an office space for his design practice when he stumbled across a charming shop front in London's Bloomsbury. Having originally intended to simply use the back room for his studio, a chance encounter with his designer/maker friend, Bridie Hall sparked the idea of a joint venture where the two friends would stock and sell beautiful things that caught their eye – and so Pentreath & Hall was born.
What's the style?
Victorian maps and prints sit among curiosities, gifts and artisan objects that have been hand-picked for their classical good looks and, of course, quality and craftsmanship.
Why do we love it?
A rare gem of a shop, strolling into Pentreath & Hall feels like being transported back into another era – in the best possible way. For all its olde worlde charm though, Pentreath & Hall has its finger firmly on the pulse – here you'll find cool geometric printed stationery, nickel pendant lamps and beautiful decoupage plates and ceramics made by Bridie Hall.
