How to hang Dulux Feature Wallpaper

A feature wall is a contemporary and stylish addition to any room. Now, with the help from Dulux this becomes even easier to achieve. Using our colour and style knowledge we've produced a range of beautiful feature wallpapers, each designed to co-ordinate perfectly with three Dulux paint colours.

All Dulux Feature Wallpaper has paste the wall technology. It means it's cleaner, easier and a lot faster to hang. It's cleaner because we don't need to use a paste table because we're simply pasting the wall. It's easier because I'm hanging straight from the roll and you don't even have to pre-trim the lengths. So the whole process is quicker, simply slide it into position and smooth it down with a brush or sponge.

To start, measure 20 inches away from the corner of your room and then with a plumb-bob mark the wall with a vertical line. When mixing your paste make sure you mix it thoroughly to ensure there are no lumps.

Once your paste is ready transfer it into a roller tray and use a standard clean roller and 3 inch brush to apply it to the wall. When pasting the wall ensure you go beyond the width of the paper you're just about to apply, this is so when you paste for the next length you don't run the risk of pasting over the paper you've already hung.

Then you can pull the paper directly from the roll offering it close the line you've already made. You can then slide it into position on the marks you've made and this will make sure that the paper is hung true all the way down your wall. So next you would smooth down the paper with a brush or sponge and finally trim the top and bottom with a sharp knife or a pair of scissors. And when the paper is fully dry it's washable and wipeable.

Dulux Feature Wallpaper is also very easy to remove. It can be peeled off in sheets even after a long period of time on the wall. There's no need to scrape, so it's very easy to change.

When mixing your paste it's very important to start with cold, clean water. Start stirring your water then add your crystals and keep stirring until you end up with a nice, creamy consistency.

If you're going to use a craft knife, always use a straight edge up against the paper to protect it when you're cutting. When cutting it's always best to keep the angle of the knife low - this ensures you don't rip the paper. When smoothing the paper down always start in the middle and work out to the sides - this avoids any bubbles.
