In addition to the common questions shown below, troubleshooting advice can be found on page 13 of the PaintPod Compact user guide (PDF, 5MB)

Unit is not pumping and can not hear the motor running.

Possible causes

The connection from the handle to the machine has not successfully been made.

Action

Check that the paint warning light is not illuminated.

Outside interference such as appliances with remote controls and mobile phones with blue tooth or infra-red or having more than one Paintpod / Compact could disrupt the signal. Switch off all appliances and remove batteries from the Compact to allow it to re-set. Place battery back in correctly and when pulling the trigger on the handle hold this directly above the compact.

If this is unsuccessful please call our advice centre.

Possible causes

The extension handle has been attached but unit is not pumping.

Action

Check that the paint warning light is not illuminated.

It is possible the original handle is still controlling the machine. Remove the batteries from the Compact to allow it to re-set. Place battery back in correctly and pull the trigger on the extension handle.

Unit is not pumping and I can hear the motor running.

Possible causes

Possible the Dip Tube has not correctly aligned.

Action

Step 1. Unlock the Dip Tube and remove from machine, using a cloth to remove any drips of paint.

Step 2. Locate the gear wheel just underneath the cap used to lock the Dip Tube, this should be easily moved with your thumb but should not wobble.

Step 3. Locate the gear wheel inside of the Compact where you have just removed the Dip Tube from. This one will not turn easily.

Step 4. Still with the Dip Tube removed make sure the Compact is switched to start and pull the trigger on the handle. This will enable you to see if the gear inside the Compact is spinning.

If the gear wheel is tuning quickly and constantly for as long as you have the trigger pressed progress to Step 5. If it does not contact the advice centre.

Step 5. Connect the Tap Adapter and flush water through the Dip Tube (instructions on pages 9 & 10 in the user guide)

Step 6. After draining excess water connect the dip tube back in to the machine click the start button and pull the trigger on the handle.
