Woodwash
Dulux Woodwash transforms and protects all bare wood. It gives a soft wash of colour and natural matt finish that allows the beauty of the woodgrain to show through.

Surface preparation
Remove previous finishes. Remove wax, grease etc, using white spirit. Allow to dry. Sand along the grain with fine sandpaper. Dampen surface with water (but not on fine furniture or veneered wood). Allow to dry, then sand smooth. Always remove dust.
How to use
Stir well for one minute before use and occasionally during use. Try a test area first for appearance and adhesion. Apply with a synthetic or good quality brush or a sponge using light strokes along the grain. If a deeper colour is required, apply further coats. Allow to dry between coats. Do not apply in temperatures below 5°C or high humidity. Protect from water or steam for 2-3 days after application. Varnish is not normally required but on areas of wear, dry for at least 24 hours and finish with a suitable Dulux clear varnish. Avoid using harsh cleaning agents on finished wood.
Health and safety
Water-based varnish. Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. When applying it is advisable to wear eye protection. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. After skin contact, wash immediately with plenty of soap and water or a proprietary skin cleaner. Do not use solvent, thinners or white spirit. Keep out of reach of children. Do not empty into drains or watercourses. Some local authorities have special facilities for disposing of waste paint. Avoid release to the environment. Safety data sheets available for professional user on request. Avoid the inhalation of dust, wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.
