Usage guide

Surface preparation

Before surface preparation, read the information on the side panel about old lead paints.
Buy enough paint for the size of your house.
To get the best results with Weathershield Smooth Exterior Masonry Paint, make sure that all surfaces to be painted are sound, clean and dry (new surfaces particularly must be fully dry).
Remove any loose or flaking paint. Areas affected by mould, lichen, algae or moss should be treated with a suitable fungicidal wash.
Any surface defects should be filled with the appropriate Polycell Polyfilla product.
If the surface is still powdery after thorough preparation, seal it with a coat of Weathershield Stabilising Primer, but do not use this primer to seal sound, new or bare surfaces.

How to use

Lift the lid and the tray will automatically drop onto the surface of the paint. If this does not occur, gently twist the lid to release the tray. The paint is now ready for use.
Do not stir - This paint is ready to use.
Apply using a suitable roller. On smooth surfaces such as rendering, use a medium pile roller and on textured surfaces such as pebble-dash, use a long pile roller.
Take care when working at height. The use of a suitable mobile tower is recommended (contact a local hire shop).
Thinning is only necessary when sealing new or bare surfaces, in which case remove the tray and add up to 1 part water to 5 parts Weathershield Smooth Exterior Masonry Paint. Replace the tray after thinning.

WATER-BASED PAINT PRODUCT
THIS PRODUCT IS FOR EXTERIOR USE ONLY.
Ensure good ventilation during application and drying.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes. When applying it is advisable to wear eye protection. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of soap and water or a proprietary skin cleanser.
Do not use solvent, thinners or white spirit. This product contains a fungicide. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not use or store by hanging on a hook. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding.
Do not empty into drains or watercourses. Some local authorities have special facilities for disposing of waste paint.
