Tailor Made Colour Weathershield Smooth Masonry Paint

Dulux colour mixing Weathershield Smooth masonry paint is an exterior paint formulated with a unique ICI acrylic resin to give 15 years guaranteed all-weather protection.

Surface preparation

To get the best results with Dulux colour mixing Weathershield Smooth masonry paint, make sure that the surfaces to be painted are sound, clean and dry (new surfaces particularly must be fully dry)
Remove any loose or flaking paint. Areas affected by mould, lichen, algae or moss should be treated with a suitable fungicidal wash.
Any surface defects should be filled with the appropriate Polycell Polyfilla product.
If the surface is still powdery after thorough preparation, seal it with a coat of Weathershield Stabilising Primer, but do not seal sound, new or bare surfaces.

How to use

Do not stir - This paint is ready to use.
Thinning is only necessary when sealing new or bare surfaces, in which case add up to 1 part water to 5 parts Dulux colour mixing Weathershield Smooth masonry paint.
2 full coats of Dulux colour mixing Weathershield Smooth masonry paint are normally required. However, on previously painted surfaces in good condition, where similar colours are used, 1 coat my be sufficient.
The coverage of Dulux colour mixing Weathershield Smooth masonry paint will vary according to the surface that is to be painted. An approximate guide is 13-15m²/litre on smooth surfaces such as rendering and 4-6m²/litre on rough surfaces e.g. pebble-dash. It is always a good idea to apply a small test area first.
Dulux colour mixing Weathershield Smooth masonry paint contains algicide and fungicide to inhibit mould and algal growth that can damage the paint film.
Precautions: Do not use on common or Fletton bricks. Do not use or store the paint in extremes of temperature. Do not use outside when there is a likelihood of rain, fog or frost both during and after application, as this will affect the drying process. Protect from frost.

Avoid contact with skin and eyes, When painting it is advisable to wear eye protection. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Remove splashes from skin: use soap and water or a recognised skin cleaner.
This product contains a fungicide. Keep out of reach of children. Keep container tightly closed. Do not use or store by hanging on a hook. Do not empty into drains or watercourses. Some local authorities have special facilities for disposing of waste paint.
