Solid Emulsion Matt
Non-Drip matt emulsion for rollers that spreads straight from the tray with little spatter or mess.

Surface preparation
To get the best results with Dulux Solid Emulsion, make sure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean and dry (new surfaces particularly must be fully dry).
General preparation: Remove any loose or flaking paint. Where necessary, wash the surface to remove dirt, grease etc. Rub down to remove any sheen then wipe off dust with a damp lint free cloth. Avoid inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding.
Seal new, bare and porous surfaces, including previously unpainted patterned textured surfaces (e.g. ceilings coated with ARTEX texturing compound) with Dulux Plaster Sealer.
When redecorating new buildings that have a plasterboard finish (i.e. not plastered), for the first time it is advisable to apply a coat of Dulux Plaster Sealer, as this type of surface remains very absorbent and so may be difficult to paint.
Any surface defects must be filled with the appropriate Polycell Polyfilla product which will need to be rubbed down smooth when dry.
Painting wallcoverings:
Not all wallpapers are suitable for painting, so please check first. Always ensure that the paper is clean and free from all paste residues. When painting new or unpainted papers, add up to 20% clean water to the paint and stir in.
How to use
Do not stir or thin. Apply 1-2 coats of Dulux Solid Emulsion direct from the tray.
First paint round edges and switches etc with a brush. Load the brush by drawing it lightly across the surface if the paint ( dipping the brush in the paint will turn it liquid).
For the main area Roller When painting over plain or lightly textured surfaces using a 7"/175mm short pile mohair or pile roller will give a better result. Do not use a foam roller. To load the roller, simply draw it across the surface of the paint several times using a light downwards pressure. To minimise roller spatter do not overload the roller or press too hard. Apply evenly but do not spread too far.
Replace the plastic film over any remaining paint. Press the lid on firmly all the way around to ensure a proper fit. Store container in a flat position for future use.
Precautions: Do not use Dulux Solid Emulsion on radiators etc. Areas that suffer from condensation should be painted with Dulux Kitchen or Dulux Bathroom instead.
