Quick-Drying Wood Primer & Undercoat

A quick drying formulation which is convenient to use. Suitable for most new or bare wood surfaces both inside and outside.

Surface preparation

Ensure surfaces to be painted are sound (i.e. not flaking and are sanded down), clean and dry. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding.
Before surface preparation, read the information in the Safety, Health and Environmental information section about old lead based paints.
Treat any knots with knotting solution.
Prime bare metal with Dulux Metal Primer.
Any surface defects should be filled with the appropriate Polycell Polyfilla product.

How to use

For bare areas:
2 coats of Dulux Wood Primer Undercoat.
For painted areas:
1 coat of Dulux Wood Primer Undercoat. Allow to dry for a minimum of 2 hours between coats, then apply an appropriate Dulux finish.

Water-Based Paint
Ensure good ventilation during application and drying.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes. When painting it is advisable to wear eye protection. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of soap and water or a proprietary skin cleanser. Do not use solvent, thinners or white spirit.
Keep out of the reach of children.
Do not use or store by hanging on a hook. Do not empty into drains or watercourses. Some local authorities have special facilities for disposing of waste paint.

This product contains no added lead. However, the wood and metal surfaces of the building, especially if it is pre-1960, may have been decorated in the past with a paint made with lead pigments. Preparation and removal of such paint can be hazardous.
