Edwardian

Recreate a graceful backdrop for elegant living. In this time, paintwork became quite simple and understated providing an ideal backdrop to more decorative furnishings.

However, colour became more vibrant, with deep blues teals and turquoises now becoming available through chemical dyes. Much favoured colours were Quartz Pink, Salmon Cream, Crystal Grey and Foyer Green, and are ideal for contemporary style living today. The stronger, more vivid colours were used in rooms for more dramatic effect, and were often used in ballrooms in hotels at the time. Today you can combine them with paler shades of the same colour to add a touch of your own drama without going over the top. For example layering shades of Fitzrovia Red, Ritz Red and Quartz Pink for an ultra feminine look.
